I would like to know that too so I can add the Rhoboard to my Harmony remote.
If that is actually not an IR receiver, how hard would it be to add one (like a TSOP38238) to the IO pins, what would need to be done to get Android to accept that?

pretty sure it's an IR receiver \ it says IR on the PCB - do the Rhoboard makers read these forums?

do the Rhoboard makers read these forums? Based on recent messages it seems they don't. I really hope they are just on holiday and will be back soon. Without tech support from them initially (at least until we have the ability to load our own O/S) the Rhoboard will be pretty useless.
